Meet the Cast

“Let’s Kill the Boss!”

Tim Dybevik

(Gus Lumpkin) Tim is an actor and improviser who can be seen on many stages in the Twin Cities. He’s appeared at HUGE Theatre, The Brave New Workshop and The Chanhassen Dinner Theatre. Tim has also done several scripted shows with Actors Theater of Minnesota. He’s also appeared as Master of Ceremonies for several events around the Metro including; Minnesota Boychoir, the St. Paul Winter Carnival and the Minnesota State Fair.  As a new cast member to the Mystery Café, he’s excited to perform with this talented group of actors!

 

Wini Froelich 

(Harriet Krump) Wini has been working for the Mystery Cafe for 8 years performing in several productions such as The Svensano’s, Murder by Chicken and her all time favorite Let’s Kill The Boss. Wini also works as an actress and program associate at Mill City Museum for the MN Historical Society. So yes, she can be seen traipsing through downtown on seriously hot summer days in an 1880’s costume complete with corset delivering content about women’s work and architecture. She is grateful to her beautiful progeny Collan and Bronwyn for always supporting their mom.


Chris Karki

(Lena Love) Chris has performed with theaters all over Minnesota including Park Square Theater, The Great American History Theatre, Commonweal Theatre Company, Actor’s Theater, Minneapolis Musical Theatre, Troupe America, Hey City Theater, The Minnesota Festival Theatre and DalekoArts where she is a proud company and board member. Chris has also performed across the country in regional and national tours and with theatre companies in Wisconsin, Maryland and Ohio. Chris also does quite a bit of directing and is the Artistic Director with the Totino-Grace High School theatre.

 

Michael Lee 

(Anthony Margate) Michael has been seen in Brave New Workshop’s Flanagan’s Wake, Actors Theatre: Guys on Ice, Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding, We Gotta Bingo! Ann Lees

(Carlotta Batista) Ann is a long time Mystery Cafe vet. I mean, a LONG time. Tim Roth has said Ann is the greatest actress he’s ever had the pleasure of working with (unverified). During the school year, she performs educational shows all across MN. In the Summer, she performs as “Miss Adventure,” one of the Ushertainers for the St. Paul Saints.

 

 

Paul Somers

(Larry Love) A native of Waseca, MN, Paul earned his B.S. in Theatre Arts from Mankato State University. Recent roles include John Adams in 1776 with The Merlin Players (of which he is a founding member), and Capulet in Romeo and Juliet at Park Square. He has performed as Hugh Butternut in Triple Espresso since 2003, performing all across the country as well as in Dublin, Ireland. Other theater credits include the Jon Hassler Theater, Lake Pepin Players, Urban Samurai Theater, and Guthrie Theater Lab. He has also toured recently with Deer Camp: The Musical. Paul’s favorite role is that of father to his four (that’s right, FOUR) sons Jack, Gregory, William and Alec, without whose love and support this performing thing would not be possible.

Adam Fielitz

(Tony Baccardi) Adam is excited to be returning for his 6th season at The Mystery Cafe. Adam has been acting in Minneapolis for over 20 years in theater, film, and improv. He volunteers at Catholic Charities teaching improv classes and is half of the improv duo Police Cop Detective PI.When Adam isn’t working his day job as a corporate trainer, you can also see him at Actors Theater of Minnesota, in local films and commercials, and presenting workshops to local businesses and organizations. Originally from Chicago, Adam enjoys cooking, woodworking, and listening to vinyl. What Adam doesn’t like is slow drivers in the left lane…unless there’s only one lane…then he’s more understanding.

 

Dave Gangler

(Numbers Ortega) This is Dave’s fifth year performing with Mystery Café, and he loves every minute of it! You might have seen him in “Murder By Murder” or “Let’s Kill the Boss” or possibly “The eX-Feds”. He has performed with many area theaters including Park Square Theatre, Torch Theater, Jungle Theater, Walking Shadow Theatre, Theatre Pro Rata, Pioneer Place, Theatre L’Homme Dieu, and Paul Bunyan Playhouse. Prior to moving to Minneapolis, Dave lived in Los Angeles and appeared on the TV shows Angel, Freaks and Geeks, and The Andy Dick Show.

 

Katherine Kupiecki

(Florence Clifford) Kathy has been working with the Mystery Cafe since 2005. Recent notable performances include Romeo & Juliet at Park Square Theatre, and as one of the Real-ish Housewives of Edina in the hit Hennepin Theatre Trust collaboration with Second City of Chicago. A Twin Cites-based theatre, film and voice actor, Katherine has performed lead roles in two recent Ivey Award winning productions: 2012’s all-female Julius Caesar (Mark Antony) with Theatre Unbound, and 2015’s Gabriel (Jeanne Becquet) with Walking Shadow Theatre Company. She has also performed with Penumbra, Old Log, Theatre Pro Rata, Gremlin and Actors Theatre of MN.

 

Erin Roberts

(Dee Dee DeMilo) is delighted to be joining the Mystery Cafe for her third season. Favorite credits include: The Corn Maiden in the 2008 NYIF (Favorite Supporting Actor/ offoffoff.com); The Rivals, Othello, Snakebite (PA Center Stage); Henry V, Two Gents, Philadelphia Story (Theatre at Monmouth); The Seagull, Present Laughter (Dorset Theatre Festival); The memory of Water (Invisible City Theatre Co.) Defying Gravity (Swandive Theatre). You might have seen Erin on your TV in several commercials, or this summer as a field correspondent for the St. Paul Saints. Dan Rooney

(Trusty Smith) Dan has performed in over 50 Mystery Cafe Productions since 1994. His other theater credits include Chanhassen Dinner Theater, Old Log Theatre, Brave New Workshop, Hennepin Stages, Paul Bunyan Playhouse, and a national tour with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus

 

 

Tom Winner

(Roland Boil) Tom Winner has been performing in the Twin Cities for more than 30 years. This is Tom’s 2nd century with The Mystery Café. He was a member of the Dudley Riggs’ Touring and Resident Companies and studied improvisation at the Brave New Workshop. He has appeared in productions with History Theater, Park Square, Theater 911, the Minnesota Fringe Fesival, and in multiple productions of The Temp. He currently performs with the improv group Nimblicity.

 

“Death Throws a Curveball”

Brian Kelly

(Whittemore) Brian has been performing with Mystery Cafe since 1994. In 2016 he took over as owner and artistic director. With Mystery Cafe’s founder, Lee Adams, he has written “The eX-Feds” and “Death Throws a Curveball”. His monkeyshines have also been seen in Triple Espresso, Tony & Tina’s Wedding, ComedySportz, and numerous TV & Radio commercials (yes, including the donor spot). In warmer weather, Brian serves as Entertainment Director for the St. Paul Saints.

 

Gene Larche

(Phillip Zwilling) Gene has worked with Mystery Cafe since the last millennium, and with many theaters including Frank Theater and the Brave New Workshop. He has worked in commercials and feature films and most recently can be seen beating up on Woody Harrelson in “Wilson,” directed the 2017 Southwest Summer Theatre production of Urinetown the Musical.
